Paper Three – 12.05 Technology Fulfils Future Emissions Demands

Dr. Udo Schlemmer- Kelling was born in 1954 in Duisburg / Germany. From 1975 to 1981 he studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Braunschweig. In 1981 he joined Krupp MaK GmbH, which later became Caterpillar Motoren GmbH Co. KG in Kiel / Germany. For the first 4 years he worked in various departments dealing with the variety of mechanical engineering issues. From 1985 onwards he became a member of the R&D department. After a one year stay in US with Caterpillar Inc., Lafayette facility he returned to Kiel, and today he is in charge of “New technology introduction for medium speed engines”. In 2002 he finished his doctor thesis (Ph. D) at the University of Rostock.
