BIMCO, established in Denmark in 1905, is the world's largest international shipping organisation, with about 2,400 members in more than 120 countries. The owner members of BIMCO control a fleet of about 620 million DWT, representing approx. 65% of the world's merchant fleet. BIMCO offers practical and tangible services also to brokers, agents, P&I Clubs, maritime educational institutions, associations and other entities connected with the shipping industry.

Following close on the heels of a very successful presentation of NEWBUILDCON in Singapore on 31st January and London on 28th February, BIMCO will hold a third in this series of newbuilding contract seminars in Hamburg on the 9 May 2008. This seminar will be of particular interest to shipowners, shipyards, shipbrokers and law firms. The NEWBUILDCON Hamburg Seminar, which is free to all participants, will take place at ‘Le Royal Méridien’ in Hamburg. The seminar will start at 9.30am and finish at approx. 15.30pm. A buffet lunch will be provided. BIMCO welcomes participants with an active interest in shipbuilding contracts to join the team responsible for developing NEWBUILDCON. Participants will learn what makes NEWBUILDCON different from and more appealing than other shipbuilding forms in current use and why BIMCO recommends anyone contemplating building a new vessel to take a close study of the industry’s first modern, international standard shipbuilding contract. Each participant will receive a specially prepared booklet containing a copy of NEWBUILDCON and a set of comprehensive explanatory notes.
