Gala Dinner
The 2012 Gala Dinner will be held at the famous Groninger restaurant and brewery!
The Gröninger Brewery Pub and Restaurant is located on historical ground as records show there has been a building on the site since 1260.
The history of the existing building can be traced back to 1722, when Johann von Oberbecken bought the propery in a public auction. Around 1750, the building was refurbished which is when it got its new baroque front that is still admired today.
On the 4th June 1793, Johan Hinrich Schmeichel, the owner of the house at that time, obtained permission to brew beer on the premises; Johan continued to run the brewery pub until 1819. From 1819 to 1893, several different owners - all heirs of brewers - produced beer and ran a pub on the premises.
From 1893 until 1982, numerous merchants ran different businesses on the premises but in 1982 the historical house was restored and became again what it had been in the beginning: a small and fine private brewery and a pub for the citizens of Hamburg and for guest from all over the world.
In the cellar of this historical location, the very popular Gröninger Pils is brewed and the brewery copper is within sight of the guests which certainly adds to the special atmosphere of the Gröninger brewery.
The Conference Gala Dinner offers delegates the opportunity to network with conference attendees in a relaxed environment.
