The gala dinner, sponsored by Castrol Marine will offer a fantastic networking opportunity in fabulous surroundings. The dinner will be held at the new, highly acclaimed, International Maritime Museum which is housed in Hamburg’s oldest preserved warehouse and which affords excellent views of the harbour.

In association with Castrol Marine’s official sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, this year’s gala dinner will take on a distinctly football theme this year. Special guest, ex-Germany football player Lothar Matthäus, will be taking part in an interview and Q&A session with guests at the dinner. Matthäus has a huge list of accolades to his name including being named European Footballer of the Year, World Soccer Player of the Year and FIFA World Player of the Year in the early 90’s. The most capped German player of all time, he captained the West Germany team to victory in the 1990 World Cup.

The Motorship Propulsion & Emissions Conference has hired the International Maritime Museum exclusively for the evening and delegates will have the opportunity to take tour of the Museum for an hour before dinner. Covering ten floors and more than 11,000 square metres of exhibition space, delegates will be able to experience shipping and marine history from 3,000 years. Over several decades, Professor Peter Tamm senior has collected around 26,000 ship models, 50,000 construction plans, 5,000 paintings and graphics, more than 2,000 films, 1.5 million photos, 120,000 books and numerous nautical devices, historical uniforms, militaries and maritime objects, making the International Maritime Museum home to the largest maritime collection in the world.

Included in the ticket is return transfers from the conference hotel to the museum, museum tour, welcome drinks, three course meal with wine, water and coffee, all this for only £105. Use the booking form to book your place, but hurry places are strictly limited.
