The The Motorship Propulsion and Future Fuels Conference 2018 official launch

PFF launches PFF launches

Celebrating 40 years of The Motorship’s Propulsion & Emissions conference, and nearly 10 years of the Gas Fuelled Ships conference, 2018 will see the launch of one large combined and enhanced event.

Over the past decade or so the Gas Fuelled Ships conference has explored the evolution of not just LNG but other clean, low-flashpoint fuels, to the point where they can no longer be considered in isolation from more mainstream propulsion choices. With the 2020 global sulphur cap approaching, operating within the constraints of the Energy Efficient Design Index and with tighter CO2 emissions measures almost certain by 2023, these so-called alternative fuels are now an essential feature in ship owner’s propulsion considerations.

For the first time in 2018, the long-standing Propulsion & Emissions Conference will be run alongside Gas Fuelled Ships Conference, under the new banner of The Motorship Propulsion and Future Fuels. Over two conference days attendees will benefit from insightful technical presentations either in streams or plenary sessions, with the event culminating in a technical visit to a hybrid powered ship on day three.

The call for papers will be released in the new year. Interested parties should contact the team. Keep up to date with the latest conference news by checking the Propulsion & Future Fuels website.

The Motorship Propulsion and Future Fuels Conference is expected to attract a 250-strong audience to the Riverside Empire Hotel on November 14-16, 2018 in Hamburg.  Its goal is to provide decision makers from the ship operating sector, ship design and construction companies, fuel, equipment and technology suppliers plus classification and policy-making organisations with a meeting place to learn, discuss and knowledge share solutions to operational and regulatory challenges.

Hamburg will be the venue of the 2018 conference due to its long history and strong presence in the global shipping sector. 113 shipping companies representing 73% of Germany’s gross tonnage are based in Hamburg, providing the conference with a solid industry foundation.

A range of sponsorship opportunities are available to suit any budget, all of which are tailor made and designed to enhance your visibility to an audience of top level CEO’s and technical directors from ship owning/operating and management companies, ship design and ship building senior executives, sector specialists from fuel, equipment and technology suppliers plus senior management and advisors from classification and policy making organisations.

Booking is open now and for just €1899 you can attend this fantastic combined event and benefit from Conference attendance on both days, full documentation in print and electronic format, lunch and refreshments on both days, a place at the conference dinner, and a place on the technical visit.
